Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years experience in a fast-paced upholstery factory working in a team (on track) using the staple gun (air compressed)
  • Experience working on a production line upholstering different parts of a sofa (arms, backs or seats) using the staple gun
  • The candidate must be able to prepare the wooden frame of the sofa (add sponge, springs, cardboard, etc.)
  • The candidate has to be able to staple the cover of the sofa (fabric or leather) onto the prepped frame
  • The candidate then ensures that the finished products (sofas, armchairs) meet the high quality standard
  • You have to be 18 to be considered for this job

Pay rate:

  • £12/h (this pay rate is paid for the first 26 weeks while being trained to learn the models and while you get up to speed)
  • piecework bonus will be in place after the 26 weeks as it follows: basic pay rate paid to everyone who does not hit the targets (which is National Minimum Wage) plus piecework bonus (which can go up to £15/hour)
  • Overtime paid at flat rate (Mon-Fri), x1.5 (Sat), x2 (Sun and Bank Holidays)
