The company is a well-known pallets manufacturer in the UK. They process 1000 wooden pallets each day. Our client is looking for Production Operatives to process these pallets. This is an exciting opportunity to join a great team and to work in a friendly environment.
Job description:
- You will be sorting wooden pallets – when stock comes in, you will be deciding if pallet is damaged beyond repair, if it needs fixing or does not need any repair
- You will be repairing pallets – using hammer, electric saw (very basic saw called a reciprocating saw) and air powered nail gun to remove broken panels from the pallets and replace with new ones
- Full training will be provided; the candidates are not expected to be fast from day 1, speed will increase after 1 week training and will be up to a good speed after 6 weeks
- You must be energetic, with loads of enthusiasm and a ‘can do’ attitude
- You must be physically fit
- You have to be able to work at a fast pace on an automated production line

Pay rate:
- £12.78 / standard hour
- £19.17ph / overtime hour *all overtime hours (Mon – Sun) paid at x1.5
- *Overtime available:*If you are on a week where you work 3 days, overtime will trigger after 36 hours*If you are on a week where you work 4 days, overtime will trigger after 48 hours
Shifts:
- 42 hours a week average (48 hours one week and 36 hours the next week)
- 4 on 4 off (2 days 2 nights and then 4 off)
-Days shift – 6am-6pm
-Night shift – 6pm-6am
– Overtime available
– If you are on a week where you work 3 days, overtime will trigger after 36 hours
– If you are on a week where you work 4 days, overtime will trigger after 48 hours
Other info:
- The contract is Perm from day 1 ; our client is very keen to take people on permanently and to work long term
- Client will train candidates to drive FLT if the candidate settles in and wants to do this. It will be another task involved in the job to break up the day and make the job less boring
