Job description:

  • Assembling metal components for valves and other metal products
  • Components and final product will vary in shape and size
  • Able to follow written instructions (manufacturing process notes) for each job
  • Assembling the same product repeatedly
  • Quality checking components
  • Testing components
  • Flexibility to work in other areas when required (warehouse, picking, feeding the lines, painting, packing)
  • Able to work on own initiative

 

Shifts:

*please note that the shifts are rotating weekly (1 week days, 1 week afternoons, 1 week nights)

  • AM shift: Mon – Thurs 6.00am – 2.00pm Fri 6.00am – 12.00pm
  • PM shift: Mon – Thurs 2.00pm – 10.00pm Fri 12.00pm – 6.00pm
  • NIGHT shift: Sun – Thurs 10.00pm – 6.00am Fri 10.00pm – 04.00am

 

Pay rate:

  • £10 / hour ; *increase to £10.50ph after 12 weeks
  • 30 min unpaid break
  • £15 – £20 / overtime  hour  * overtime will be paid: Weekdays: x1.5; Sat (up to midday) x1.5 and x2 after midday; Sun x 2; Bank Holidays x 1.5

 

Important information: 

Interview and Induction process

 

Candidates will be required to attend site before given an induction date to complete;

–          Practical assembly test (10 mins)

–          Written test to assess basic shape recognition and numeracy

–          No set pass or fail, just looking for basic aptitude

–          Drug & Alcohol test

–          Induction date given once tests completed

 

Benefits

–          Daily bonus of £7.70 paid for attending each shift worked (shift premium because shifts are rotating)

–          Daily bonus of £11.30 if working nights (same as above, the shift premium is paid per shift and applies if the worker has a day off, they still get the premium for any days worked

–          £500 joining bonus (£250 after 3 months & £250 after 6 months

–          £150 attendance bonus – paid quarterly if no absence or late (allowed 1 late in 3 months – no absence)

–          Shut down over Christmas period to spend time with family
